CNG prices to be fixed
ISLAMABAD - The government is likely to clip Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station owners’ wings by allowing Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to fix final price of the natural gas for the end consumers.

NBP hands over 45,000 CNG rickshaw worth Rs 5.5 bln Karachi: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has so far handed over about 50,000 environment friendly CNG rickshaws worth more than Rs 5.5 billion to applicants all over Pakistan under its Rozgar scheme. This was stated by the Group Chief Consumer Banking NBP Aamir Siddiqui in an interview here Monday.
 
 
 
  Operational CNG Stations in Pakistan
 

CNG development in Pakistan started in mid eighties when HDIP set up two CNG refueling stations in Karachi and Islamabad. Due to excellent production and distribution of Natural Gas in Pakistan; today there are more than 1300 CNG refueling stations operational either on existing Petrol pumps or on a separate piece of land.

CNG being an alternative fuel and well proven with passage of time has increased its consumers in Pakistan; almost 900,000 vehicles in last 3 years have converted to CNG; and these days near around 150,000 vehicles are converting to CNG in a year that makes Pakistan to be the 3rd largest user of CNG vehicles in the World after Argentina and Brazil.

CNG refueling stations of Pakistan are equipped with state of the art automatic controls and systems. High Pressure Compressors installed are of various design types like L-type, W-type, V-type, D-type. These Compressors are usually imported from America, India, New Zealand and China.

Government is taking major steps to promote CNG by exempting all taxes and duties for the machinery and equipment used for CNG refueling and conversion.
